Associate Buyer Planner

Overview

We are looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic Keystone Manufacturing team located in Kalamazoo, MI.   An Associate Buyer Planner is a motivated, self-starter who assists in the purchasing function in all parts of the organization. 

The Associate Buyer Planner will also have a great attention to detail and be highly organized with the ability to multi task with minimum interruption to work progress.  Excellent interpersonal skills while working with internal teams and high customer visibility are also critical to success.

A successful Associate Buyer/Planner Associate must be capable of working with minimal supervision, have a “can do” attitude, possess creative problem-solving skills and be willing to do “whatever it takes” to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Place purchase orders, review, follow-up and expedite orders
  • Assist in identifying and managing existing and potential suppliers
  • Ensure accuracy of data in ordering system and within component specifications
  • Balance inventory with customer demand
  • Effectively manages the coordination of shipments and documentation of outgoing orders
  • Support customer service functions with respect to orders and fulfillment
  • Actively pursues and negotiates cost savings to achieve financial goals
  • Assist in implementing inventory replenishment strategies
  • Assist in supplier and customer price changes
  • Review and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies
  • Identify improvements for purchasing and planning

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • BA in Business, Supply Chain Management or 4 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks or other ordering systems
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Must be able to understand and execute tasks per Standard Operating Procedures and Customer Specifications
  • Must have the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus
  • References must be provided upon request
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
