A successful Director of Business Development must be capable of working with minimal supervision, have a “can do” attitude, possess creative problem-solving skills and be willing to go above and beyond expectations to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.  This team member should have excellent interpersonal skills, great attention to detail and be highly organized with the ability to multi-task with minimum interruption to work progress.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Develop, drive, and manage sales strategies and partnerships that lead to profitable, sustainable growth.
  • Actively seek and source new business opportunities
  • Successfully lead the reduction of Keystone client concentration
  • Lead, manage and hold accountable all business development resources.
  • Develop and manage business development group budgets for sales, marketing, advertising, trade shows, and other activities.
  • Provide positive, impactful participation and support for business development activities such as; trade shows, podcasts, social posts, and all other customer interactions.
  • Provide positive, impactful participation in Sales and Marketing L10 meetings.
  • Provide positive, impactful participation in Management Team L10 meetings.
  • Initiate and execute onsite sales calls at new potential clients and existing key accounts sourcing new business opportunities.
  • Conduct effective meetings with new and existing clients.
  • Promote company service offerings, values, and culture.
  • Assist with marketing collateral development.
  • Support meetings and discussions for advertising activities.
  • Support content plan and social media activities.
  • Provide input for marketing approaches and strategies.
  • Effectively communicate new opportunities to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of estimates based on information gained from clients.
  • Work effectively with key teams (manufacturing, purchasing, product development, quality) to address and resolve program activities and issues.
  • Apply company values when managing internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide accurate and timely expense reports.
  • Present regular activity reports and results to management.
  • Support executive management with coordinating key meetings and events.
  • Foster and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Work to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Apply company values when managing client relationships.
  • Build long-term, collaborative relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Create and manage customer database (Excel, CRM, or other).
  • Develop and present forecasts for quarterly management meetings.
  • Develop and present strategies for additional service offerings.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in medical device sales.
  • Technical and/or engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience with medical device assembly, packaging, and sterilization.
  • Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Must be able to work in an office environment.
  • Extended hours, including weekends and holidays may be required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specific experience in contract manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform sedentary work with periods of active work that includes pushing, pulling and carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending at the waist and/or knees
  • Travel requirements: 50% (once COVID travel restrictions are lifted), to customers, suppliers, trade shows, and other needs as required
